The Difference Between Resellers and Retailers

Many people have utilized the reselling model for making money, whether they are buying and selling video games at garage sale or searching for products on the internet. But if you’re looking for more than a quick buck, retailing might be a better choice.

A retailer purchases products from a wholesaler or distributor and then sells them at a greater cost to the consumer. This can be done using marketplaces online such as eBay or Amazon or traditional brick and mortar stores. Retailers may also offer unique added value services, like customization or technical support.

Resellers buy products, offer them Resellers and Retailers for sale at a discount to the final user and typically sell the product for less than the original cost. Resellers can be found in every industry and are usually not as customer-focused as retailers. They also have the ability to rebrand or modify products using private labels and sell them to retailers or directly to consumers.

Another major difference between retailers and resellers is that retailers sell to the end user, while resellers are primarily focused on selling to other businesses. This can be particularly advantageous for businesses with little capital to invest in buying large quantities of products. Additionally the retail stores are usually able to offer a wide selection of products and services in one location, whereas resellers are generally focused on selling a particular product to customers.
